We have come to Seattle to visit with Paul, Michele and Kiera. We arrived on Tuesday afternoon and today (Wednesday, April 30) we went for a walk outside. It was beautiful. We thought you would enjoy the pictures.

Some views of Santa Ana taken by a friend, Carlos Cader.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday of "Semana Santa" we were in Guatamala City and went to Antigua to see the alfombras and processions. It was a time to really change the scenery in our life and enjoy a time away from Santa Ana. There were crowds and crowds of people and spectacular sights to see.

Our small group wanted to go camping during the first part of Easter week (everyone wants to go somewhere for vacation) so off we went to a park below Cerro Verde called San Blas. It is also called Casa Cristal. It was great to sleep out in a tent (!!), your mother did fine and we had a great time with Elizabeth who kept us company (along with Sasha? Shasha? - how do you spell that name?).

My brother Dean and his wife Paula hired a taxi to take them from Guatamala City, where they were staying with a client, to our house in Santa Ana. I had given them the address and they showed up at our door. It was great to see them here. Dean gave his testimony in the church and in an evangelistic dinner we had in our neighborhood.

Of course, I had to include a snapshot of Shasha in her normal riding position in the car.

After Christmas, we had a visit with Edwin, Christina and Tori. We went to the beach again, got to eat out a bit and just had fun.

Tory loves taking her bath at the beach in the cooler.

We went out to eat at La Pampa Argetina.

Oh, so cool . . .

After Thanksgiving on the beach, we took a trip to Guatemala City with Jaime and Nora Beníntez - this was their second honeymoon, so we had to go along with them to help them celebrate! Actually, Jaime had a medical conference and we took Nora to Guatemala to spend a couple of days with Jaime, and we went to Antigua together.

This is the view out of our 17th story hotel room.

Mom is always the tour guide.

We never get tired of finding new details in the ruins.

Here, Nora and Mom are going into the ruin of the Cathedral. Up front under the main alta is a cyrpt. There are stairs going down under the altar - kinda spooky.

I went down under the altar - really dark and nasty down there - and waited until Nora was above me looking down the dark hole. At just the right moment I began in a low voice to call out her name. She really freaked out!!

There was a procession that day. The women were carrying the "sled" with the image of Jesus on the top.
After all the excitement, we had to get cooled off at Don Rodrigo and listen to the Marimba band.
Then Mom and Nora had some fun at a furniture store. They finally threw us all out of the store. It was a fun trip - even if we had to go in the car instead of on the bike (we had to take Nora too).
